Kashi is called the city of temples. There are temples of God on every street here. Some of the temples in this city are historical and have special significance. Today we are going to tell you about one such ancient Sankat Mochan Hanuman Mandir which was founded by Goswami Tulsidas, the author of Ramcharit Manas. Sankat Mochan Temple is a historical temple and the idol of Lord Hanuman kept in it is called Baba Sankatmochan. It is said about the idol that it was sculpted by the poet Goswami Tulsidas with his own hands and then a small temple was built, later this temple got expanded. There is also a belief associated with the temple that in the 16th century, Tulsidas wrote a part of the holy Hindu scripture Ramcharitmanas while staying here.
